Orchard Road Lightings..for my friend in Taiwan.
I didn't have a proper camera with me so the quality of the photos are not good. My camera has been permanently residing with Albert nowadays. All the photos down here had to be edited by photoshop. Talk about spending so much money on a pda but quality of photos cannot make it.

Tangs

This is also one of the very rare xmas that i really feel all warm and fuzzy, and surrounded by many who celebrates Xmas.
The Xmas tree that my colleague volunteered to bring from her home, ornaments also came from her. We only chipped in by helping to decorate the tree and wrapping the box where the tree is 'rooted'. That's cos she lost her Xmas tree stand! We had to use one of the boxes to substitute the stand instead. And then we wrapped the box up. And someone placed a soft toy under the tree. Our Hungarian colleague is Jewish. So she brought her candle stand last week, it is a traditional Jewish custom, Chanukkah, a 8 day festival, to light the candles. One for each evening, and as the days pass, more candles are lighted. Then the candles are left to burn out, and new ones lit the next day. Since Jewish doesn't have Xmas, this festival, as i was told was created for the Jewish kids to have something to play with, like gift exchanging. For more details, you can read up this site.
Altho this festival is not religious, but a prayer was said before the candles were lit. It was the 3rd day from the start of 1st Advent, so 3 candles were lit in our office haha....but we were worried about triggering the alarm if we leave the candles there so we blew it out like after 5 mins haha. The middle candle that was lit is a helper candle, u use that candle to lit the other actual candles. And of cos real candles should b this kind tt we used lar....haha...but well...
The chocolate coins were also brought by my colleague to be placed under the candle stand for whoever who wans to eat it. Another of their tradition i suppose.
It's the very 1st time i came across a Jew. It's interesting. Bcos of the linkage of our faith. ANd it is interesting to be able to witness a Jewish festival. No harm to know more.
Self-obession. Getting more n more difficult to get a nice picture of myself nowadays. That's some of my colleagues. It was taken using another hp camera. Hence the quality is not gd also. SOmemore it's blurred. Bleah. The whole table of us, only 2 of them are Singaporeans.
Hope you like the photos, my friend in Taiwan. I think you go youtube see better hahah..i can't capture the mood of xmas using my lousy camera.
