Last Sunday, our church prayed for the leaders of tis island. The closing song even had to be 'Bless Singapore'.

IN my heart, i was like wah lauz. A few uncles nearby echoed the same thought as me but out loud. They were like, ' Sure or not? ' But we still sang the song, becos truly we still would wan God to bless this country.

I don't blame them. There are two types of people here. One is the never satisfied ones, always complaining about the gahmen this gahmen that. The other type is the sheltered ones, who has inevitably been brainwashed, whom worships the leaders and the decisions they make.

I've always found it hard to pray for the leaders. I don't really belong to the complainy sect of people, but i'm definetely not brainwashed. Deep down inside, somehow, i don't think we are led to be democratic.SHdn't elaborate further or else i'll prob get into trouble. I don't complain as much, because no matter how ridiculous the gahmen sometimes are and how politics are ran on this island, this country is no doubt prosperous. People here get to live a life of stability, peace and enjoys much comfort. For all these, we should learn to be contented, thankful, but definitely not brainwashed. People here are most often not contented with their lives, always seeking to have more possession, but have you thought of this question? If your life here is not this stable, will you have a chance to be thinking of what to get next? What to complain against your neighbor? Which car to get next? Which hi-fi set to get next? If we are born in some 3rd world country, where poverty is everywhere, you don't get to complain about ur gahmen u know? Not because their gahmen will silence their complains, but because they are more pressing things to deal with rather than complaining. They would be worrying about their next meal, next bill payment, how to survive rather than complain about Gahmen. I believe that once you have tasted something good, pple want more..they are not really contented. But if u never had tasted something good, everything that comes along the way to you, will seem good.

So to the complainy pple, learn to be contented. If not please go to 3rd world countries and have a try at staying there.

To the brainwashed ones, please wake up. This island is not as uncorrupted as you think.

i would pray that God keeps this Island safe and peaceful as it has always been. As for the leaders....well..hope we are not becoming a dynasty led by a certain family of a certain surname. We are somehow becoming a Comm***** instead of Democratic....

For more truthful, frank insight into our democracy, Uncle Yap's bloghas an episode of the Taiwan's talkshow about politics. Juz so nice, they talk about this island. I would say...it was all very well said.

And a very interesting blog called the Matrix Island. There u will see and read about very interesting stories of daily happenings in the political scenes on this island.
