I juz finally found out the english name of the Korean drama that i was so crazy about that i could stay up at 1am every nite to catch the last 14 episodes.

And guess what?
Im not the only person who skips their sleep for the drama!!!
Check this person's blog

He wrote a good summary of the film, except that he hasn't finished the film at the time he wrote the entry.

I was actually reading this website (http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showthreaded.php/Number/299112) which has a list of the most extreme places in the world, ie highest waterfall, driest place on earth etc. And somewhere, it listed Seoul as one of the most populated places on Earth.
let me quote,
'Seoul, South Korea with an approximate 10,321,449 is the most populated city on the earth. The capital of South Korea and once the ancient capital of the Baekje Kingdom (18 B.C. - 660 A.D.), Seoul literally means "capital" in Korean.
'

Baekje !!! For pple who are not familar with korean history like me, i thought that the 3 kingdoms in the drama were a made-believe. I was so damn wrong. The show was based on real history, mayb loosely, that i won't know...

So Baekje and Silla Kingdom really existed. WOW. Wat a revelation.

Fortunately for me, the drama has finally ended. And thus i've ended my spree of burning late nights oil haha. The ending......was kinda heart-wrenching it made me cry, my dad tot i was mad.

I found the love story between Ah Zhang (the future king of Baekje) and Princess Shan Hua (from Kingdom of Silla, Baekje and Silla were enemies) really touching. I would describe their love for each other to b simple and pure, restricted by many things but yet untainted, it reminds of the kind of love that God would want us to have for our partners. The reason i was so touched by their love story, was cos it really reminded of myself and Mr Albert. Although their love story dragged for years before they could be together as husbands and wife, and their marriage was plagued by many wars, which the King had to leave the palace for the battlefield, and the Princess only managed to live for another 10 years after marriage before she fell ill and passed away. But mine only hmmm had to tahan many months? But i can understand. The feeling of wanting to b together,doing things right and then really being together. It's bitter-sweet. You really treasure each other so much more .It reminded mi to treasure who i have with me. Bcos he's not mine afterall, he's God's. Real love transcends time, place and even death. The king's last words in the drama, after her passing were,' .. i am missing you...' I didn't see it as, he's hoping that she's still alive, how gd would it b if she's still alive, not that kind of self-centeredness. I saw it more like, he was telling her as if she was still around, that he misses her, as in face to face.It doesn't really matter if she's around or not, his love and pinnings for her will always b there.
AWWW..................come on, everyone says AWWWWWW..........i used to think this kind of stories are like fairytales and made-believes. But how come i feel like im in one every single day. hahaa...

A little search of the history of Baekje Kingdom here

History
Baekje was founded around the lower Han River in BC 18. Until it was destroyed by Silla-Dang Alliance Empire in 660 AD, the Baekje Kingdom lasted for 678 years, ruling over Chungcheong-do, Jeolla-do, Gangwon-do, and Gyeongsang-do. Baekje was founded by the Buyeo-tribe of the Goguryeo people. King Goi is generally credited with centralizing the Baekje state and gaining permanent ascendancy over the remaining states of Mahan. During the reign of King Geunchogo in the early Baekje period, with strong royal authority and the Damro (Baekje’s administrative district) system, the dynasty advanced into three provinces (Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, and Jeolla), Mid Nakdonggang area, Gangwon-do & Hwanghae-do, northeast China, and Japan. Later, the Han River area was taken over by the Silla Dynasty. Enraged by the defeat, King Seong made a retaliatory attack against Silla. However, he died at the battle of Gwansanseong (mountain fortress). During the reign of King Euija, the kingdom weakened due to frequent battles and was finally destroyed by the Silla-Dang Alliance Empire in 660.
