I've discovered a little 'talent' in me, if those can b considered talents at all.

I realised that im pretty much a good organiser cum planner or watever u call that. Deying has been praising me to the skies about how gd i am as an organiser. But that's bcos she wants me to plan more things for them!! haha..

Im not saying im a gd organiser bcos she said so. But somehow, somewhere im the one planning for outings and holidays. It's probably not a talent. But i think it's an ability acquired from these period of time.

And i also realised that hey i love planning things and the satisfaction i get from being involved from the beginning to the end and everyone is happy...

As for holidays, sometimes i really wish im not the one planning but i don't know if they noticed, whenever they say they wanna go anywhere for holidays, eventually it's like understood somehow somewhere that i'll go and find out what to do. Or i'll b the one to liase with everyone else etc. aiyo ..seriously speaking, quite tiring lor.

This time, im going HOngkong, macau, guangzhou and probably SHenzhen. TO find out about one place we are going is tough enuff, esp we are on tight budget, figuring how much we need to spend etc...planning a trip to not just one place but a few places is hmm rather time consuming. WE aren't taking any tours. bcos i hate tours. I hate being restricted. To figure how to get from Macau to Hongkong is another problem but i figured it out anyway. How to clear the customs is another problem, i can only imagine. I need a visa to enter china but vanessa don't need to. Advantages of being singaporean i gez. Argh. Cost mi $80 for the visa. And it's single entry. That means i can't come in and out of china again n again but then again i dont intend to go back once im out of china.

Our air ticket is $240 from tigerairways, flying to and back from Macau. It's the cheapest. It was supposed to b $270+ but there's a promotion where one way air ticket to Macau would b 50%. Im leaving on 26th, which doesn't not fall b/w the promotion dates stated but when im coming back on the 4th, it will be falling within the promotion. So i decided to buy 2 one way tickets. one to go macau at normal price. And another one way ticket from Macau back to Sg at 50%. By right one way tickets will b more expensive than round way, but bcos of the 50% off, we managed to save $30+. 30 bucks oso wanna save. OF COS LAR. $30 can allow me and van each to spend a night in Macau.

Hotels in Macau generally cost about $100+ per night. That means each of us pay $50+. That $30 comes in handy man. Y the need to stay in Macau? Bcos our plan was to go Guangzhou 1st from Macau and staying for a nite in Macau gives us enough time to walk around and explore Macau, i heard one day is enuff, plane would touch down by 12+pm in Macau. The next day we can take a coach to Guangzhou, which takes 2.5 hrs, so imagine if we were to touch down on 1st day and go straight to guagnzhou omg...that's like 5.5 hrs of journey from flight to coach....waste time. Alternatively, read that there's ferry going to Guangzhou as well.

Once we are in Guangzhou, we will go find van's fren, visit her. We will be staying near the Pearl River, heard the scenery is gd. Not much proper hostels in Guangzhou so im willing to spend a bit more like $30+ per nite per person on hotel. For safety and cleanliness. Walk around watever. Heard the metro is safe and brings u to most places in Guangzhou. But i don't really trust what the ang moh says in forum, as u know..they are huge sized...we two gals onli and so petitte even by asian's standards.. worry abt that when we get there lar.
Stay 2 nites probably, 3rd day go to shenzhen...stay at nite...Shenzhen to mainly visit 'xiao ren guo' Then head to Hongkong by KCR train. Guangzhou to shenzhen also by train.

Once in Hongkong, we will b staying Kowloon. One of the hostel there. THe prices are gd and reviews are gd as well..so for the next 4-5 days ...hostel. Gd location i heard. I've consulted my hongkong fren here in sg. It was where he used to grow up. In arygle street. One nite at hostel, cost 17 USD each person. WE have a room with 2 beds for ourselves. Clean and location is damn gd since it's only a walking distance away from MongKok MTR station.

Then head back to Macau, flight is at 6pm but i heard the ferry to go Macau could b crowded with many pple on weekends and to make sure u can get on the ferry, better to go buy tickets early and go over early. So will b in Macau walking ard, last min shopping of almond biscuits and portugese egg tarts if i can bring them home to u guys hahaa...

Orignally was to go with my cousin to Hongkong. But at that time didn't find out abt the hostels prices and hotels are really too ex. Pple told mi that i need at least 1k for shopping n eating and accomodation alone. AND they didn't realise that come on!! HOng kong got hostels leh!! and it's so cheap!! By the time my cousin and i was looking at the air tix in dec, the tickets are v ex aldy, bcos of the peak season. SO no choice. Now she doesn't have enuff money to go on this trip as she has to go Melbourne for her studies in April.

It turns out that even tho Van and me will b going for 10 days, going to a no of places, it's still pretty cheap bcos we saved on the air tickets and hostel in Hong Kong. And also mainly cos it's the non peak season now, the hotels, hostels and air tickets are so much more cheaper if not we won't b able to go.We onli spending ard $600(below 600) on air tickets and accomodation for 10 days!! I can claim $300 from NUS welfare. Wah. That leaves mi onli speding $300. PLus all the other food, playing, shopping...hopefully onli 500 more. =)

This is the very few times, probably the 1st, as i cannot recall other incidents, where i didn't go travelling with my cousin. Hmmm....sobz. U know u know the other person's habits so much that it's so easy to go on holidays bcos we have been to many trips together...etc..

Im pretty worried about Guangzhou actually. Cos it's china. Hhaa....pickpocketers...thugs...hmmm...... need to buy travel insurance...which my AIA fren has glady offered to help.
