My boss has 2 labs,ie one research lab and one service lab.
Technically speaking, he's only the one in charged of the service lab, which is the one im working in. Service lab has 2 pple, me and Huida.
Research lab has like 10 of them.
My boss treats me and Huida as part of the team, tho we are not involved in research. I was involved. Basically, the pple over there and us, we are gd friends, we play together, we work together, we go out together.
Unfortunately, we have to bid farewell to them. Somewhere Somehow, every lab that is involved in a certain programme has to move into a new building, the old IMCB building, now known as THE CELLS. So since my boss is involved, they have got to move. The upper levels have talked about moving for like 1 over yrs. After much dismay and unwillingness on the lab's part ( research lab), they have no choice but to move over.
Eventually, they started moving their things, equipments over last week, and now their lab is pretty empty and ahem dusty. The pple are moving between the 2 places. It's so sad to see them go. Bcos my lab is a service lab, serving the area, we can't move with them, even tho my boss had actually suggested that we quit this job, and he will employ us with his grant to do research over there. After some consideration, i didn't take the offer. So we juz have to bear the pain and part with them.
Everyday that all of us get a chance to spend time together for now, are carefully treasured, bcos times like such, where we can juz easily talk and see each other are getting lesser and lesser. WEll, we can always still meet up for lunch n stuffs. Gez things MAY be different in the future. They themselves are not that happy moving away, bcos it's demoralising to dump part of ur team here right....and tho the upper levels boast of the facilities over there, actually there are just too little workspace for each one of them etc...basically,everyone was happy the way things were in the past.
We just all went to vivocity for lunch, without boss lar of cos. I gez we won't have such opportunities next time liao lor
Anyway, this week is quite busy for mi considering that i didn't have to dance. I spent monday at home bcos of the terrible thunderstorm lar. Lucky i didn't have to work. Tues not so lucky, have to work and whole day was pouring.Tried really hard to keep my jeans from getting wet but towards the end of the night, it was impossible sian. Spent Tues night with my prudential agent, and later with Lloyd for a short dinner catch up. Wednesday, i met up with uni friends Jennifer and Xiaoying over dinner and did our VERY last minnute Xmas shopping. Everywhere are simply crowded with last minute shoppers, pple who are on leave and got too much bonus and kids who are on holidays. SIan. That's y im not so keen about going to town and doing xmas shopping, bcos of the crowd and to make it worse the weather was horrible.
TOnight im going back to vivocity to watch 'Curse of the Golden Flower'.
Tomoro will need to go to church after work to set up and decorate our stall that our cell grp is setting up for the xmas carnival on sat.
Sat will have early 9am driving lesson and then xmas carnival the whole day.
Sunday normal church service.
Monday xmas service.
Jen asked y have two services, her xmas service will b on Sunday, it a really taxing on the pple helping out etc. I don't know. I gez some churches do that. And i know for catholics they always just have xmas eve services. Im very used to my church being like this so i don't question why. ANyway i do think it's great to b in church for xmas on xmas day itself. Start the day off meaningfully instead of waking up late..well that's for mi lar. And somemore my church is big, we have many pple serving. 1 pastor and 2 (female) assistant pastors haha..so not a prob at all lor. Each one are trained to give at least 3 sermons a day. Cos we have 3 different services on Sundays, and usually one pastor gives the same message to 3 different services, sometimes there are exceptions..it really depends. Yes..methodist churches do allow and have female pastors =) So yap i don't question why..it has been like this all the years...
From Our Daily Bread (dec 14th )
In an editorial printed in Reaper magazine, David G. Stewart wrote, “In India we used to chuckle about baby pujah, or baby worship. All the women would gather around the baby in arms, and cluck like broody hens with their approval, and note the supposed likeness to mom or dad, and hold the fingers, touch the cheek, kiss the feet. A favorite term to describe the young baby boy was ‘Little Rajah, Little King.’ Though they do not actually bow down and worship a new baby, those Indians give so much attention to a new infant that it’s no wonder they call it ‘baby worship.’”
When Jesus was an infant, He too received adoration and honor. He was adored by shepherds who left their flocks in the fields to worship a baby in a manger. Why? Because He was the King of kings.
I wonder, as this Christmas season progresses, are you able to focus your attention, even briefly, on the One whose birth we celebrate? Even more, are you willing to bow down in humility and give Him the adoration He rightly deserves? Isaiah prophesied long ago that His name would be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (9:6). Jesus was no ordinary baby. He truly was the King of all kings! —David C. Egner
As you bring your gifts to His cradle
And worship Him now as King,
Do you bow your knees to His power?
Is your life the offering you bring? —Brill
When we recognize Jesus’ kingship, we will give Him our worship.
9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
Phil 2:9-11
