* Pet education *
Sighz..i typed such a long entry and got deleted again. BLOODY *(&&^%#@!!
I said, more abt kuching trip and photos will b blogged on later on.
ANd i said that when i was in kuching,pervert HL sms mi asking if i can adopt this 2 rabbits abandoned downstairs his HDB. I said i can't cos my mom..then asked him to call spca. An account of his rabbit experience is here:

And i wished to educate pple abt their pets, espeically the rabbits here. Bcos i feel that i do have knowledge on such matters and many pple do not know or they can't b bothered to find out. So i hope with my blog, more pple can know these facts and learn to treat their pets properly.
1st of all, when u consider buying a pet, there are the responsibilities involved. Do u have time for them? Do u have time to clean their cages,living places or bath them? Do u have the time to walk them? Do u have the money to provide the food and extra things like bathing sand, absorbant materials etc? DO u have the means to care of them when they fall ill? Will they be forever this cute and would u still love them if they outgrow their cuteness? Wat are the life spans of the animals??CAn u commit yourself for that many yrs?
If u can't meet any of those, pls don't buy urself a pet. I think HL is very right on a certain issue. It's all abt responsibilities. U don dumb a life like that. DO not buy a pet in a rush. Do not buy it juz cos it's aww so cute.
ANd rabbits are very fragile animals. They are low on the food chain and they were meant to be food. This only means that they will definetely won't be able to survive if u juz dump them in the wild like that. It's a common mistake for pple to think that ahh rabbits belong to the wild, like wat u see on tv..they shd go back to where they belong. NO!! That's bloody stupid! Rabbits' feet would go sore from hopping on rough terraines and concrete path. They cannot survive without water andw here are they gonna find water? No food either and under the mercy of nature. They would definetely die in the wild. Rabbits that we keep as pets are too domesticated for such things. If u cannot take care of ur pets anymore, at least have the heart and concience to find a new owner or put them at House Rabbit Association/SPCA, at least they have a chance to live.
Rabbits live up to 10 yrs. Can u take it? They have be a cute little white ball of fur when they are babies, when they can outgrow into a monster like angel. Not every rabbits are dwarfs. (wat's so cute n gd abt dwarfs anyway...but that's a digression) Chincilla can live up to 10 yrs too. Both animals need to b let out for excercise n play everyday. At least half an yr.
Rabbits are betta off kept indoors than outdoors contrary to many pple's beliefs abt rabbits in the wild etc. This is bcos rabbits feel safer indoors.
Their cages have to be big enuff for them to move ard and that's only healthy.
Pls read up on the animals b4 u attempt to buy/keep adopt them. I've had frens who juz take care of their rabbits their own ways and in the end killing the rabbits. Internet provides so many information. If u wish to get a rabbit as a pet, pls adopt one from SPCA or house rabbit association bcos there are many other poor beautiful rabbits out there who needs ur love and attention. There are too many rabbits around aldy. So sterilise ur rabbits, it's healthier for them as well, whether u believe it or not. The more rabbits are born, the more rabbits who would end up suffering and dying.
I believe it's not juz gd enuff to own a pet. U have to make sure that your pets live an enjoyable and gd life with you. It's the quality of life for your pets.
So pls have a heart. Think twice b4 getting a pet. You are the world to them. So treat them with lots of love and respect pls.
