* Hmm....wow....how can he do that??? *

WEll i didn't read the straits times yesterday but Yicai related this article where a particular lecturer allowed a guy to present flowers to this gal during lecture..romantic? I don think the gal even know him...hmm....and to make things worse, the lecture was captured on webcast and pple has been spreading it around. Plus her blog has been passed ard as well. Seemed like she shot to fame over night thanz to the wonders of internet and blogging.According to yicai, sites and blogs overseas have noticed her story even. Heard that many pple had blast her for being so silly for thinking that this whole thing sux. How true are all these? Check ur Straits Times for verication...that Yicai tend to add salt and pepper. Hee..aww sayang bb.. it's the truth WAT...

I don think it's at all romantic. Onli the angmohs regard this sort of LOUD, public affection as very romantic and probably all the gals dream of such nonsense. I mean c'mon on..this is Sinapore, still a place where asian values still lay root in many pple's upbringing. This is not romantic. It's downright stupid. Thanks to his 'romantic' gesture, this gal is traumatised. He can go fly kite aldy...and dream abt being with this gal. Poor thing..i mean the gal.

Haha..and despicable me decides to put her blog here to entertain u pple. http://crapofcw.blogspot.com/

No harm juz reading alittle.........Anyway found this article that she put up on her blog, tot it's really interesting cos it put singaporeans on the world map again...to the world's amusement.

You're a Pain, But Let's Get Married Anyway
SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Singaporean couples may not be happy with their partners but they will still marry them anyway, a global survey on relationships shows.
The poll of 716 couples who planned to wed showed that 39 percent were unhappy in their relationships, the highest proportion of nine societies surveyed by a U.S.-based marriage and family therapy organization.
The poll is the latest unflattering survey of ardor in a wealthy population that chases what is known in local parlance as the Five C's: career, condominium, club, credit cards and cars.
Birth rates hit a record low in 2004 and an annual survey by condom-maker Durex has ranked Singapore for three straight years near the bottom of its list of sexually active nations.
In the latest survey, only 14 percent of Singaporeans described themselves as "very happy" with their partners, the lowest of the regions surveyed and compared with 48 percent in the United States.
The polls were conducted as part of a U.S.-based program known as PREPARE (Premarital Personal and Relationship Evaluation) led by David Olson, a retired University of Minnesota professor and author of several books on family therapy.
Other regions surveyed were Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Britain, Canada, Germany and New Zealand. But Singapore's results stood out sharply, said Olson.
"I'm surprised so many premarital Singaporean couples are not as happy with their relationships but are still planning to get married," Olson told Reuters after releasing the findings at a conference in Singapore.
Among those in the survey who consider themselves unhappy, most cited disagreements with their partners on a number of issues, or said they disliked their partners' personality or that there were problems communicating effectively.
In contrast, U.S. couples ready to tie the knot painted a far more blissful picture with nearly half of 1,000 surveyed indicating they were very happy in their relationships.
Olson said couples in Singapore -- an island of 4.2 million people -- may be suffering because of a reluctance to speak their minds about problems to avoid confrontation.
"They are afraid to say what they think and are afraid to disagree," he said.

Haha...oh yeah damn right on that..singaporeans are afraid to say what they think and afraid to disagree. I'm not gloating at ur u know.. i'm juz amused! I mean u can't deny it's partly true. And who can say that more truthfully than a non-singaporean such as i, who had been brought up in this (argh..) Singapore education system and society. Really...Singaporeans can b such a pain in the ass at one time-imagine all the super educated pple who juz wan their ways and complain at everything, esp their own country and their government. But then there are the large population of them who juz listens to wat the government tells them. And TRUTHFULLY, I WAS OSO ONE OF THOSE WHO LISTENED. The government once said that computer engineer is very gd..high demands for these talents and everyone flocks to computer engineer or watever. Now it's overflooded. Then they say Life sciences is damn gd and look at how disillusionised we all are when we graduated. (damn PAP- now we even have NTU recruiting for biological science ..i mean are these pple nuts? can't u see the industry can't support that many life sciences graduate?I feel sad for those juniors of mine..they are made to believe it's such a gd course to go into. And the truth can't b further than that...and who is NTU to think they can provide a betta environment and facility for these students ?????????hee..)
The government say too many children no gd....Fine fine fine...now the government says more children gd.....government says we muz not litter, we muz not have bumble gums, we muz flush the toilet,we muz have lots of campiagns such as speak gd mandarin speak gd english and courtesy watever...and last of all we muz not have any strong opposing views of PAP bcos Lee Kwan Yeo will sue u till u bankrupt. But fear not bcos a new generation of us are rising( and LKY is too old..)And we DARE to oppose. Finally. I mean we are so well-trained, we automatically flush the toilet after use, search out the nearest dustbins for disposal of unwanted items, we even stand on the right (or isit the left) side of the escalators in mrt stations. WEll-trained like my rabbit.....wat happened to THAT speaker's corner?????

Not too bad lar...bcos of how the government spoon-fed us, we can always live in this bubble. Well protected by the PAP. And that's y i still choose to stay in singapore.

Well supposed to have celebrated QL's bday 2 weeks back. And jen's bday over the last weekends. Both were canceled due to the lack of means to locate someone.. Seriously i'm rather tired of all these. Pls make the job of locating u easier for us...bcos we are all damn tired of this. ok?
