* Hell and back*
The nurses were being cautious rather than sory taht's why they gave me a tetanus jab. It could last me 5 years and with such a high possibility that i could cut myself again it's betta i have the vaccination, i probably need it.
BUT the tetanus vaccination gave mi fever and my whole body was aching like hell. Was fine when i was working. Only when i reached home the whole thing sets in. It almost felt like when u have a flu.....IT was so bad i could barely get out of bed. From an immunology point of view, fever is possible as your immune system is reacting to the vacine. From a human's paranoid point of view, i was worried that the fever would go too high....and im suffering like hell, can i take panadol? Will it make my vaccination somehow incomplete??? I muz have been too sick, my tots didn't even make sense. Lowering my fever shdn't affect how my body is churning out memory B cells to remember this damn tetanus.
I was in pain and confined to my bed till my mom came home. Yicai had gone to a chalet so i was left with no choice but to stay on my bed if not i think he would have brought mi to see the doc earlier. I was practically crying for my mom, like a kid.The onli pain that i ever knew that could match these pains would be THE mentrual cramps.Waited till my mom came home at 10+...she called my cousin's mom cos her neighbour is a nurse, to ask if tetanus vaccination would give mi fever and all....turned out nurse oso said some pple will have it, juz as yicai had tried comforting me with..and i could take panadol. So took my din (at 10+) and panadol and gone to bed. The fever went off but came back during the night,meanwhile my body still hurts like crazy.
By morning i went to polyclinic and was there for more than 2 hrs...cos the bloody Q was so long. Doctor thinks i might have coincidentally caught an viral infection that's y i'm having fever and bodyaches. I took that with a pinch of salt. I DONT think i can b that 'lucky' lor. It MUST be the tetanus. I think he's hiding the fact :p. Anyway changed my dressing, my wound looked betta. Doctor gave mi a stonger kind of painkiller and 3 days mc. WOW. DR Hwang Chi Hong. He's gd. PLus he's nice. I didnt' ask him for 3 days lor!! He gave mi himself and he said so that i dont have to go back this week. WOW.
And u know wat? My workplace pple are quite weird. They don mind me taking how many days off. IN fact, before i told weiping (she's taking over my job for a while cos there's no one to do them, i really appreciated it alot cos there are a number of difficult users to entertain to) that i've got 3 days mc, she juz told mi y don i rest for another 2 days she would handle the users!
I mean in some places, even taking mc would render some dirty looks from ur boss or colleagues lor. Somemore 3 days and in my case they would have to cover my job. Furthermore.....i don think i need 3 days.........the most friday can work. BUT actually friday i aldy took leave to settle some stuffs...so now i juz cancel my leave lor.
3 days..he's gd man. Actually i shd have gone back to my sch's clinic becos they did the tetanus jab yesterday, so it's betta i ask them abt it. And change my dressing there. But i donoe wat possessed me to go to the polyclinic. IF i had gone to sch's clinic i would b out ofthere in half an hr..instead of 2 hrs at polyclinic. I was so sick i didn't know wat the hell i was doing......yicai also donoe y never remind me....now that i'm less sick i think i was so stupid.
