Finally finally managed to catch Howl's moving castle and we're so glad we watched it. I think most places have already taken down the show. Before u think i went to clementi's cinema to watch it...no yicai and me watched it at cineleisure lar.
I think the cartoon is really fantastic!! ONce again i don see y the critics didn't like it as much but as usual they always don seem to appreciate the really gd shows. I mean this Gong Qi Jun really has such wonderful imagination!!! I know his story-telling is alittle awkward and weird esp if ur so used to the present animes style. I love it that he always creates a particular world for his stories, somehow these world juz popped out of nowhere and then no explaining watsoever, he juz take it as u know wat's happening. I think this cartoon is funnier than his previous ones, probably for a bigger mass appeal. His usual would b quite serious plots actually. The first cartoon of his production that i've ever watched was Tian Kong Zhi Cheng, City of the sky literally translated. I was like 9 or 10 yrs old ? and my cousins showed it to me. And for many yrs after, i had very gd memories of it. I remembered that the idea were fascinating, i couldn't really rem the plot but yet i still loved it, i searched high and low for the that vcd. And then finally a m'sian confirmed the title with me, and then i found out that hey we aren't the onli one who know abt this guy's cartoons, in fact he's a pretty famous in japan. I even bought a collection of his cartoons, i think got 9 cartoons of his. Oh man..absolutely love that old dog which is too old to bark, onli make funnie panting noises!!!!!!!!
And then took a cab home cos was 12+ aldy..i think i'm pretty hooked onto being chauferred ard by taxi drivers. Gez that's how my money is wasted on. The onli consolation that is...it's still cheaper than owning a car. Bleah. And we juz got our pay on 18th rite? On the 20th, which was yesterday, i invested $300 on 2 sea horse mattresses. (heartache!!!!!) hai....But gd thing was they were having a 50% sale u see. And everything was on half price. IF not i would have to pay $600 aldy...
