* My lack of motivation in blogging *

Has it been a week? I wasn't too busy at the lab actually, monday was spent stoning. Tuesday was actually really free till the immense amount of alcohol decided to leak from one of the machine and i was kept busy cleaning up the mess, being poisoned by the sheer amount of 70% alcohol mixed with watever fixation chemicals and dead microscopic tissue of animals. ANd in the process of clearing up, i was complacent enuff to think that my glove could protect mi. Turns out that some of the alcohol seeped thru. How i knew? Cos when i saw my nail polishes, they were all coming off and in cracks. God knows whether my hand kanna the fixation chemicals...*shudders*

That reminds mi of something and of someone. A user. An honours student from my batch whose project involved dripping fixation chemical on the poor mice's legs/ watever and observe their reaction to that. Apparently, his boss managed to knockout a particular gene in mice recently and was said that these mice were especially intelligent and less suceptible to pain. So he's trying to prove that. SO pause here. Wat is a fixation chemical and wat does it do to tissues? As the name suggests, it "fix" the structure of the tissue, preserving it by crosslinking the amino acids with methyl bonds ( not sure wat kind of bond but anyway it crosslinks amino acids) so that the morphology of the particular tissue is greatly preserved. And usually we put organs or parts of it that is into a fixation chemical when they are removed from the living organism. So there u drip fixation chemical onto the poor animal and see wat happens. Mayb i shd tell him....actually nothing happens....juz visble drying of the skin, looks even more wrinkled, no loss of touch, no pain......mayb i really shd tell him that. Or mayb if i'm that lucky, the fixation molecules were too big to b able to pass thru the gloves's gaps. And not to mention this guy doesn't feel a pinch of empathy/sympathy/sadness towards the poor mice...but ok that's another story.

Wednesday, i was kept busy with a dentist who sought help on sectioning his mice's nerves...It's really interesting cos who would expect a dentist to b doing labwork? So i found out he's doing all these for his masters, and his very nice supervisor kinda MADE him do this part which is totally irrelevant to his masters. Anyway his exams is in mid april and if he can't hand this up he can't pass u see. So i pity him and helped him out and anyway it's my job to. SO there u go...whole day like that.

As for thursday onwards...wahhahaha i took leave for thurs and i went shopping with xiaoying who had MC since wed....best. So happy happy holidays!! And that's y i didn't bother to blog. Long weekends ..damn shoick. Worked onli 3 days wahhahahahaa.

Time to sleep. Its Easters.
