HOrror at work. I don mean to freak u guys up or anything. But since i'm posting all the photos i might as well put this one up and i've got no idea y the hell i went to take a pic of this thing. It's part of a machine we have. Users come and use it and we charge them. But one user was particularly lazy..wanted us to cut the tissue sectionings for her..so she paid us to do it. See that yellow dot on that white thing? The white thing was a gel like liquid that freezes at -20 degrees celcius..and that yellow dot is wat's left of a rat embryo's brain after i cut like 9/10 of it away aldy. Each section we cut is abt 10 micrometres. So it's very thin. Poor rat. Under the tissue there's a sharp blade...so basically u roll a roller manually and the thing with the tissue comes down and part of it gets slice off. Weiping sliced her finger yesterday. DEEp cut. ANd i was like omg! ANd she juz grabbed this bottle off our lab shelves that read 70% ethanol and poured it over her cut. And 2nd OMG!! That's to disinfect btw....my knees went weak. SO i was so damn careful when it was my turn to help out in cutting the brain. This morning an experienced sweet lady who always come n use this machine sliced 1 cm of her flesh off her first finger. There was like a deep hole!! And so much blood. The worse thing was..she cut herself with the blade that i used to cut the rat's brain! And we all donoe wat's injected to the rat's brain b4 taht...so early in the morning the adrenaline was so hard to swallow. Weiping grabbed her to the sink to wash her finger with water cos she refused to move cos she was so scared of pain. ANd gez wat..weiping poured the 70% ethanol on her again. OMG...OUCH!!!!!!! yux!! Anyway we sent her to go to the doc...she had her fingers wrapped like a white sausage when she came back. Poor thing..that's gonna b one huge scar. I hope i won't b the next victim. OUCH. BTW regarding this machine, i used it for 2 hrs+ and u have to stick ur hands into the chamber which is kept at -25 degree cel...i got frost bite. Very painful. I wonder how these pple can use the machine for 5 hrs...it's worse than the frozen section in super market. ANd yesh i wear gloves...the lab gloves not the winter ones!! So yup that was it...no more freaky accidents. One more thing to add..rat embryo's brain is actually bigger than i tot! It's about...1cm long. Do u think my hamsters' brain is that big even?
