Wah this job is for bummers. It's bloody gd. A pc for me,internet connection and music and msn on..wow. I'm working in a service lab, doing DNA sequencing and insitu hybridisation ... this lab i discovred is actually quite big in terms of it's land space. I tot it's quite small one...as i remembered during the interview..this lab is under a prof named Dr Lu..and under him there are also 2 research labs(juz beside mine) So this service lab that i'm working in, onli has me and 2 other gals, one diploma grad and another masters grad who is now also partime phd student. The dip grad took a mth's leave till dec so i hasn't seen her yet but rite now i'm using her pc...hahaa..she got some exams..partime studying in MDIS i think...so the pple from the other 2 labs i'm not that close to them..had lunch with them yest and i found them to b so stern. I wonder y all the pple are so dead.....forever talking abt their research projects...this membrane that membrane..mayb shd juz less of xylene to get that watever protein. Their conversations sounded like alien language to me. Crazy pple. One guy who was sick and still recovering from his flu and cough was talking abt his illness to my colleague and boy...they went into how bad the strain of the virus is.............i almost burst out laffing!! Life scientists?!!!They sure talk like one. I bet their brains are filled with their watever membranes all day.
I am aldy feeling sick and i'm thinking that guy's strong strain of flu virus and got its hold on my immune system...hey! i'm talking like a life scientist now too!!
And most of the pple are from china. Nothing agaisnt them lar juz an observation. EVen my prof is from china, studided in oxford etc..It's a nice place to work in...u don have to ans to anyone..and nobody really cares abt u bcos this lab runs on its own theoretically speaking. But it's a bloody boring job. The pple are so serious...dress so down to earth..no makeups watever..if i'm gonna b a life scientist, i'm gonna b a HIP one..i never say i wanna put makeup..i juz say i won't wan to look so..guai. I think they r too engross in their wonderful world of research.
I took quite some photos of my bday and my new lab. Will upload one day...bcos rite now i'm still working (but chatting). I'm so smart. Juz now Weiping, that's my colleague in this lab has to do her research project in the other lab and she told mi she can onli leave ard 1pm to eat so she asked mi to eat 1st...so despite having to eat alone i said ok i shall go 1st...know y? cos i can come back and bum ard while she goes and have her lunch!!!
My bday was ok. Simple but sweet. I enjoyed myself. Didn't do much actually. Juz had a nice dinner at Spagheddies ( hmm don look rite..) wah i love their pasta. And went to buy my present, piere cardin wallet bcos yicai was letting mi choose the kind of wallet i wan. So i was choosing b/w my 1st love piere cardin and this very classy matured looking Braun Baffel...in the end i still went for the sweet looking piere cardin lar. Don wanna look old. And i got my mom a wallet for her bday as well...more ex than mine man. SO many pple's bday this mth...i'm gonna bleed really bad this mth..and with that pathetic 1.8k of mine..hai...
