My mom was like playing with the hamsters the whole morning b4 we got ready and left for the airport. I think she would miss the hamsters alot. Bearbear got out of the cage last nite again...we didn't know she went missing until my mom was doing her last min laundry and she saw bearbear at the balcony(where the cages are) haha! I think she would miss bearbear the most! Anyway we went to the airport at 11+...hsiaolin's dad came to fetch us. But i sat in mingming's dad's car instead (cos my mom had too much luaggages)with yicai. Yicai came with us to send them off and to help with the luggages. Thanks bb...I'm just thinking if u weren't with me i think i would b really really sad to see them leave HAI~~
They went in really early ard 12+ although the flight is at 1.30pm cos the airport worker came and provided the airport's wheelchair for my dad and he pushed my dad into the ..err is that the checking in area? aiyah u know lar...so they went in early. Then later on yicai and me took the mrt ..we were thinking of going town one..but we tot it's a great idea to go to EXPO for the BODY Worlds exhibition since we r aldy in the EAST! I wanted to go and see since my exams!!
Hey that exhibition is damn interesting i tell u. If u're not comfy with dead pple then 4get it lar u don need to see liao. Its damn gd. ONe trip through the exhibition and i tell ya it's 100 X better than reading ur textbks. It showed the locomotive system(the muscles and skeletons),the nervous system, digestive system, urinary and reproductive systems and one very interesting section : the embryo and foetus section. They had a few foetuses with degenerative disorders or something so they looked deformed ..and probably the foetuses were obtained when the mothers miscarriaged. Really quite sad. And there's this plastinated lady pregnant with a 5mth-old baby ...the kinda cut up her adbominal part so that u could see the foetus inside her. Very amazing. But really quite sad to think that this is a real person who died with her baby inside her...And they even show u the embryos(babies are called embryos b4 they are 18 weeks old i think...) Anyway the embryos are so super tiny. BY the 3rd mth of pregnancy the baby is barely (let me see...) barely..mayb 10cm? oh well it's damn small lar! By the 5th mth then the tummy would kinda bulge. get the pic? cool ah..
I liked the nervous system part alot. They showcase many brains....and the peripheral and autonomic nervous system running ard ur body. DAmn cool!!! And if u read the papers, there's this guy sitting by the chess set?? his back part is exposed to show u the nerves running down the spinal cords and from there spread out ...I told u it's 100X better than textbks...so tis is how nerves look like ...amazing..
Never knew lungs are so huge...the livers looked huge as well leh...there's 2 plastinated specimens ..one is the brain ..the other one is the liver for the pple to touch. So we went to touch as well. Quite cool..u're holding a BRAIN LEH!! A BRAIN!! The liver feels very plasticiney..ee..gross. I onli touched didn't hold it's too big for my hand anyway..Don't wanna turn and feel like dropping the thing halfway later :p
Anyway if u're interested and curious to see how ur body is really like could go n see. It's $18 per adult. (yeah ex....i know....but worth it....)I'ts not that gross lar actually (or is it me who is used to seeing these kind of stuffs...) Even if u're grossed up initially by the end of it u wouldn't feel as if u're watching real dead pple...so u wouldn't feel gross anymore. Very informative ...amazing...
